		<description>It very likely is a representation of Jesus.In &quot;The Roman Catacombs and their Martyrs&quot;(Hertling-Kirschbaum 1950-56-57) plate 7 shows the same terracotta lamp style depicting the Good Shepherd. Since John uses both these parable-allegory images I would think the early Christians symbolized these with the same idea of &quot;I Am&quot;--The Light. Probably a community of Christians.
