Nice article but a mistake at the end regarding Mary’s House:
“The Vatican has accepted the house as having belonged to Mary and the place where she died.”
I seem to remember a doctrine called The Assumption that says otherwise.
Comment by Patrick 11.29.06 @ 1:57 pmIt would probably be safest to say she “ended her earthly days” there (though, even then, there are Jerusalem traditions as well).
But the doctrine of the Assumption does not require us to believe she never suffered death. We simply don’t know whether Mary died before she was assumed, and the Church has stated nothing dogmatically about the matter. See here:
