Is it any wonder they could easily tie the New Testament writings to the prophets and writers of old. We Catholics honor our Blessed Lady because our ancestors knew the Scriptures referring to her as the Mother of the Savior, Jesus! They knew He was God. Therefore, she was the Mother of God! Impossible??? So was the birth of Samuel, Sampson, David and many others. God does what He says; Always! Our forebearers were steeped in Scripture! They reflected on it night and day.
