Confession time: you know, Kevin, that RIP was so odd that I thought it a mark of authenticity. It’s something that appears on ancient Latin grave markers. It’s just the sort of thing, misunderstood, that would end up in such a crude, primitive scratching. This is how we acquire the habit of raising our eyebrows.
