I've read both books currently available in the series (Pastorals, Mark) and, though I've read more scholarly volumes on these NT works I found these two to be informative and highly readable. For Catholics who do not wish to pay a fortune for scholarly technicalities and bloviations-these books are for you!

Of course, if you want to read Father Brown's 800(+) page behemoth on the Johnnine Letters, and pay 55 bucks for the paperback version, you go right ahead. Wear a back brace.

Looks good! Another pro-authenticity commentary is Luke Timothy Johnson's (also Catholic) Anchor Yale Bible volume on First and Second Timothy.
