There’s much ado in all the papers about the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and the birth of the Beat Movement. I talked about the movement’s roots and fruits (and odd Catholic influences) back in 1997, in an essay posted here.

Thank you for this Mike! My brother is a Jack K. fan, and I think I’ll look into this further and send him your link. Pray for him, please…he’s in a bad situation and struggling in the dark of his destructive world view.
